POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team supporting our client in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Primary responsibility is to provide leadership and direction for the efficient operations and maintenance of all facility electrical, mechanical, structural, and life safety systems according to the client’s specifications and to apprise the Facility Manager of any and all conditions affecting building services. The specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to staffing, training and development, purchasing, customer satisfaction, staff productivity and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Engineering Management
· Lead and support building engineers responsible for the operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and structural systems.
· Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance activities, and capital improvement projects, aligning priorities with facility objectives.
· Ensure compliance with engineering standards, maintenance procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
· Conduct engineering and operational audits to ensure code compliance and process effectiveness.
· Evaluate building systems, identify deficiencies, and respond to operational and emergency situations.
· Develop equipment maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, and emergency response plans to maximize system reliability.
· Manage CMMS performance, maintenance records, inventory levels, equipment condition assessments, and purchase order requests.
Leadership & Staff Development
· Direct staff recruitment, performance management, employee development, recognition, and personnel actions.
· Develop and deliver technical, operational, safety, and compliance training programs.
· Foster continuous improvement by expanding the capabilities and effectiveness of operations and maintenance teams.
Vendor & Contract Management
· Manage vendor performance and contract compliance through quality assurance and service-level monitoring.
· Hold vendors accountable for contract deliverables, service quality, and cost control.
· Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and drive continuous service improvements.
· Monitor and coordinate work requests among vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Client Service & Quality Assurance
· Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive service and effective communication.
· Resolve conflicts, analyze service issues, and implement solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.
· Conduct regular site inspections to verify service quality, contractor performance, and compliance with established standards.
Safety & Compliance
· Lead facility safety programs, environmental compliance efforts, and systems training initiatives.
· Ensure all building operations and environmental conditions meet applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
· Serve as a resource for interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements.
General Responsibilities
· Support client objectives through effective facility management and operational excellence.
· Perform additional duties and special assignments as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Education - Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. On the job experience (4+ years of experience in management of facility/plant engineering).
· This role will entail the ability to work 2nd shift.
· Managerial experience with superior people skills.
· Must have ability to respond to after-hour emergencies, as needed.
· Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
· Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, local, state, and national codes, environmental regulations, fire and safety skills.
· Must be proficient in computer applications and software such as MS Office Suite, BMS, EMS, CMMS, etc.
· For internal candidates, must constantly receive a rating of “good” or higher over the past three years.
