Full job description

A growing multi-unit hospitality organization is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to support restaurant operations and corporate leadership. This position will play a key role in employee relations, recruiting, compliance, training, and HR operations while partnering closely with field leadership to drive a positive employee experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and has a strong background supporting hospitality or restaurant operations.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with restaurant managers and leadership teams on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Support full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly and management positions.
  • Lead onboarding and new hire orientation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor regulations.
  • Assist with leave administration, workers' compensation, accommodations, and HR policy implementation.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain HR records, reporting, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee-related matters.
  • Travel to restaurant locations as needed to support operations and team members.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • 3+ years of HR experience supporting hospitality, restaurant, food service, or multi-unit operations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations and field-based teams.
  • Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-unit restaurant.
  • Fast Casual, Casual Dining.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • High-volume recruiting and workforce management.
