Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a strategic and highly experienced Controller – Investment & Fiduciary to lead accounting, financial reporting, and control activities for a complex portfolio of client-focused businesses, including Trust, Fund & Fund Services, Wealth Management, Investment Advisory, Asset Management, and Fiduciary Services. This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with executive leadership to support business growth, regulatory excellence, operational effectiveness, and financial integrity.
This opportunity is ideal for a finance and accounting leader from a large financial institution who is looking to broaden their impact across a diverse set of wealth and investment businesses while leading a talented team and influencing strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and oversight for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting activities across Investment & Fiduciary Services businesses.
- Lead accounting and financial reporting for a broad suite of products and services, including:
- Trust Services
- Fund and Fund Services
- Wealth Management
- Investment Advisory
- Asset Management
- Fiduciary and Custody Services
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate accounting policies.
- Drive a robust control environment by maintaining strong internal controls, governance, and risk management practices.
- Partner with internal and external auditors and regulatory agencies to support examinations, audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing financial insights, business analysis, and recommendations that support strategic growth and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of accounting and finance professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities, and scalable financial reporting practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, financial reporting, or finance leadership experience within a large financial institution.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing accounting or finance teams.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, audit processes, and regulatory expectations within the banking and financial services industry.

- Asset Management
- Investment Advisory
- Fiduciary Services
- Fund Administration or Fund Services
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior executives and influence business outcomes through financial leadership and strategic insight.

Location Requirements
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $143,905.00 - $169,300.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
