Field Service Engineer
Atlanta, GA

About the Role

This manufacturer of medical laboratory analyzers is hiring a Field Service Engineer to service automated robotic lab instrumentation, including hematology, chemistry, and coagulation systems, throughout the greater Atlanta, GA area. Candidates must reside within the greater Atlanta area, east or southeast of the city, as this role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Schedule

Full time, field based role covering the greater Atlanta, GA area. Overnight travel is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States. This role requires the individual to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Compensation

$65,000 to $82,000 per year base salary, depending on experience. Overtime and performance bonuses typically add approximately $4,000 to $8,000 annually, in addition to an annual bonus.

What You'll Do

The Field Service Engineer will handle installation, servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical laboratory analyzer instrumentation, applying strong electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in the field. This includes coordinating problem resolution within the Field Support Group and maintaining accurate car inventory of tools and trunk stock parts.

The role also involves building strong customer relationships during service visits and providing basic on-site training to customers on the operation of company instrumentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate or AAS degree in electronics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field service engineer
  • Strong background in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
  • Ability to travel overnight as required
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Ability to comply with the employer's COVID-19 vaccination requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or recent field service experience in the medical device industry
  • Experience servicing medical lab analyzers or other automated medical instrumentation
