Nocturnist Critical Care Intensivist
Location: University Hospital, San Antonio, TX
Position Type: Full-time, Employed (W2)
University Health is seeking a Nocturnist Critical Care Intensivist to provide overnight ICU coverage at our 700+ bed, Level-1 trauma center, University Hospital. This role follows a 7-on / 7-off schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) , with opportunities for additional shifts based on departmental needs and candidate interest.
You will care for a diverse ICU population, including medical, postoperative, and complex pulmonary/critical care patients, within a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment. You will benefit from access to robust institutional resources and support.
Role Highlights:
Provide overnight ICU coverage and management of critically ill patients
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
Participate in rounds, care planning, and escalation decisions
Support resident and fellow education
Engage in quality improvement and program development initiatives
Qualifications
Board-certified/board-eligible, fellowship-trained in Critical Care Medicine
Eligible for Texas medical licensure
Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
