A clinically competent Certified Surgical Technologist who works under the supervision of the RN in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. Effectively interacts with the patient and health care team members, while maintaining the Surgical Department standards. This role may support additional projects, perform administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and
  • functionality of equipment and instruments
  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Physical Demands Requirement:
    •  Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
