This role offers a starting range of $65,000 to $80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.
We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor at our plant location. This role supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties.
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. Also traces shipments when required.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Responsible for following the Corporate Transportation Guidelines in appointing the best freight company for each delivery.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- When appropriate, determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Compiles records of unfilled orders.
- Posts weight and shipping charges.
- Prepares bills of lading. Labels material.
- May verify and maintain COAs (Certificates of Analysis) for incoming material.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:
- High school diploma or GED; or 2-5 years applicable experience and/or training; or combination of equivalent experience and education. SAP experience is very beneficial.
- Previous warehouse experience is helpful.
- Supervisory experience.
- Forklift license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Read, analyze, and interpret procedures, write reports and manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers
- Experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools
