Pieper Veterinary is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our growing Primary Care team in Essex, CT. In this role, you will play an essential part in providing comprehensive, high-quality care to pets at every stage of their health journey while supporting both our patients and their families with expertise, compassion, and dedication.

About You:
We believe veterinary medicine is truly a team sport, and we are seeking a candidate who shares that mindset. The ideal candidate is confident in their technical skills across all aspects of general practice, including anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, venipuncture, dental cleanings, drug calculations and protocols, surgery, and client education.
In addition to clinical expertise, strong communication skills are essential you should feel confident collaborating with team members and educating pet owners about their pets care and procedures. Experience with CPR, and EzyVet, is a plus, but not required.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:30am-6pm
Rotating Saturday 7:30am to 2pm
Compensation:
$21.00 - $30.00 an hour depending on experience

Requirements:
- At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care.
- Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
- CVT license is a plus. (additional compensation provided for CVT)
- Phlebotomy
- Anesthesia
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques to provide care for patients requiring this.
- Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide tableside assistance.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
