Job Description:

Wildtype is a sister agency of Remedy Edge within Omnicom Health. This position may appear under Remedy Edge for application purposes; however, the role is exclusively with Wildtype.

Wildtype runs like no other. As the most Agile full-service agency in healthcare, we aren’t beholden to ritual. Powered by diverse ideas, knowledge, and people, our unique creative process is a force of nature, removing obstacles between brand and growth in wild new ways.

YOU ARE THE DISRUPTION DRIVER You’ve always understood that to be disruptive is better than to be conventional. To pursue challenges is more admirable than to be complacent. You don’t settle, and you won’t let your team, or your clients accept less than the best that their capabilities allow. And you routinely remind them that what’s possible should never be underestimated.

The status quo exists to be examined and defied. You build strong relationships with your clients and help them to embrace this idea and realize the true potential of their brands. You refuse to accept “this is how we’ve always done it” and push instead for “how has it never been done?” You establish new models and approaches that introduce unexpected solutions to brand challenges. And your leadership gives your team and your clients the confidence to reach outside the familiar.

The Vice President, Group Experience Strategy is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping, governing, and advancing omnichannel customer engagement strategy across complex brands, portfolios, and client assignments.

The VP builds upon the core responsibilities of the Director role, including communications planning, customer journey strategy, activation planning, strategic briefing, tactical planning, measurement, and strategic stewardship, while operating at a higher level of client leadership, program complexity, cross-functional orchestration, and organizational influence.

The VP serves as a senior omnichannel advisor to clients and as a coordinating force across agency disciplines and external partners. As a senior owner of the master omnichannel plan, the VP ensures that Brand Strategy, Creative, CRM, Media, Analytics, Data, Technology, Field, and other partners contribute to a coherent customer experience rather than independent channel strategies.

The VP is also responsible for advancing the agency’s omnichannel capabilities, including sophisticated triggered engagement, personalization, dynamic content, data-enabled experiences, measurement and optimization, and AI-enabled strategic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Senior Omnichannel Strategy Leadership

  • Lead omnichannel strategy across complex brands, portfolios, launches, or priority client engagements.
  • Ensure high-level brand strategies are translated into clear behavioral objectives, communications strategies, customer journeys, and activation plans.
  • Challenge teams to maintain customer- and behavior-led planning rather than channel-first or tactic-first thinking.
  • Establish a coherent strategic narrative connecting business objectives, customer needs, barriers, content, channels, data, tactics, and measurement.
  • Identify gaps, redundancies, conflicts, and opportunities across the broader omnichannel ecosystem.
  • Provide senior strategic oversight and quality control across oCX workstreams.

Executive Client Counsel

  • Serve as a trusted senior omnichannel advisor to marketing leaders and other client stakeholders.
  • Provide informed perspectives on customer engagement, content strategy, journey design, channel orchestration, personalization, data, measurement, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead complex strategic discussions where the appropriate path forward is not predetermined.
  • Help clients evaluate tradeoffs among customer need, business priority, data availability, channel capability, regulatory constraints, and operational feasibility.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the client’s overall omnichannel model.
  • Position oCX Strategy as a consultative business partner rather than a downstream tactical function.

Cross-Agency Omnichannel Orchestration

  • Serve as a central strategic coordinating force across Brand Strategy, Creative, Media, CRM, Analytics, Data, Technology, Account, Field, and other disciplines.
  • Lead collaborative planning with external media, CRM, technology, analytics, and other agency partners.
  • Protect the integrity of the master omnichannel strategy across partner workstreams.
  • Clarify the strategic role each channel and discipline plays within the intended customer experience.
  • Resolve disconnects across independently developed plans and ensure that messaging, sequencing, targeting, data, and measurement operate as parts of a unified system.
  • Establish planning frameworks and governance approaches that improve cross-agency coordination.

Communications and Customer Journey Strategy

  • Oversee development of communications plans that translate brand objectives into prioritized customer behaviors, barriers, and content strategies.
  • Guide teams in identifying the highest-value behavioral opportunities and focusing investment accordingly.
  • Lead or oversee complex journey strategies involving multiple audiences, treatment stages, decision points, or channels.
  • Ensure journey mapping produces actionable implications for content, activation, data, and measurement rather than functioning only as a descriptive artifact.
  • Facilitate senior-level client workshops addressing customer experience and engagement strategy.

Advanced Activation and Engagement Strategy

  • Lead the planning of sophisticated omnichannel programs involving personalization, dynamic content, behavioral triggers, and real-time or near-real-time data.
  • Define engagement models that adapt communications based on customer attributes, behaviors, journey stage, engagement history, or other available signals.
  • Partner with CRM, Media, Data, Technology, and Analytics specialists to translate strategic intent into executable orchestration and decisioning models.
  • Define the strategic logic behind triggered programs, including trigger conditions, audience states, sequencing, channel roles, and intended behavioral outcomes.
  • Evaluate whether advanced technology or data capabilities create meaningful customer value before recommending implementation.
  • Ensure complex programs remain strategy-led rather than technology-led.

Measurement, Learning, and Optimization

  • Partner with Analytics leadership to establish measurement frameworks tied to customer behavioral and business objectives.
  • Define strategic KPIs, hypotheses, and learning agendas for major omnichannel initiatives.
  • Lead interpretation of performance findings from a customer experience and behavioral perspective.
  • Translate analytics into strategic recommendations across messaging, content, audiences, sequencing, channels, and triggers.
  • Encourage a continuous learning model in which omnichannel strategy evolves as new performance and customer data become available.
  • Help clients distinguish between reporting activity and actionable strategic insight.

AI Strategy and Innovation

  • Develop mastery of approved agency AI tools, platforms, and strategic applications.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI to insight generation, customer research, journey development, content strategy, analytics interpretation, personalization, and strategic workflows.
  • Lead development of practical AI-enabled tools, agents, accelerators, and repeatable strategic processes.
  • Partner with appropriate technology, data, legal, privacy, and operational teams to evaluate feasibility and responsible use.
  • Help establish standards for rigorous and responsible AI use within oCX Strategy.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and determine where they have credible applications within pharmaceutical customer engagement.

Strategic Quality and Stewardship

  • Establish expectations for the quality, clarity, and consistency of strategic work across assigned accounts.
  • Ensure high-priority briefs clearly articulate customer objectives, behavioral goals, content strategy, tactical role, and relevant mandatories.
  • Resolve complex strategic questions that emerge during creative and tactical development.
  • Maintain continuity between upstream strategic intent and downstream execution.
  • Ensure individual tactics and programs remain connected to the larger omnichannel system.

Annual and Tactical Planning Leadership

  • Lead or oversee omnichannel components of annual planning, tactical planning, launch planning, and major strategic initiatives.
  • Shape the customer engagement architecture that informs tactical recommendations and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate proposed tactics against customer needs, behavioral objectives, journey opportunities, channel roles, and measurement priorities.
  • Lead strategic workshops, ideation sessions, and cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Partner with Brand Strategy leadership to ensure productive integration between upstream brand strategy and downstream activation and engagement strategy.

Capability and Agency Growth

  • Advance the agency’s oCX methodologies, frameworks, tools, and ways of working.
  • Establish standards for strategic rigor and quality across the discipline.
  • Contribute materially to new-business pitches, organic growth initiatives, capability presentations, and strategic POVs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through new omnichannel capabilities, customer engagement programs, or strategic consulting.
  • Translate emerging customer, technology, and industry trends into differentiated and commercially relevant agency offerings.

Healthcare and Regulatory Leadership

  • Apply deep understanding of the pharmaceutical operating environment to advanced omnichannel programs.
  • Ensure strategies appropriately account for MLR requirements, promotional regulations, approved claims, privacy, consent, customer data governance, and technology constraints.
  • Guide teams and clients in navigating the implications of regulated healthcare communications.
  • Balance customer-centric innovation with regulatory, operational, and organizational feasibility.
