Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:

 

·         To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.

·         To follow Company policies and display conduct expected of Norplas employees as described in the employee handbook.

·         To follow safety rules of the Company and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.  Train employees on safety procedures and how to perform work safety.  Enforce safety rules and report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner.  Perform routine safety audits of work area and maintain appropriate levels of housekeeping.

·         To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Norplas.

 

Specific Job Duties:

 

·         Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities to ensure meeting of departmental performance objectives (See attached list of Performance Objectives).

·         Team Leader must be capable of performing all the duties as detailed in team member job description.

·         Report any accident, injury, or near miss immediately to the department manager and report any unsafe work conditions in the workplace.

·         Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.

·         Follow and enforce the guidelines of the Norplas Health and Safety Manual.

·         Follow and lead team members in following the Control Plan on a daily basis to ensure that our manufacturing process is consistent with the TS-16949 procedures for the Assembly and Sequencing Department.

·         Oversee overtime equalization and ensure distribution of overtime is administered per policy.  Maintain team member attendance records and report absenteeism concerns to Department Manager in a timely manner.

·         Assist with the completion of employee reviews as required and provide feedback to the team members on their performance on a continuing basis.

·         Facilitate daily informational meetings at start of shift with team members to ensure the success of the continuous improvement activities towards meeting the departmental objectives.

·         Ensure all team members have received required training necessary to meet the quality objectives of the Control Plan.

·         Ensure all tools and equipment necessary for production are available and in proper working condition at all times.

·         Maintain adequate manpower at all times necessary to complete all the assembly activities for each product as it is removed from the paint line according to the scheduled requirements.

·         Maintain good housekeeping at all times.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Educational Requirements

 

·         Ability to read, write and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required.

 

Related Work Experience

 

·         Minimum two years previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced work environment preferred.

·         Demonstrated exceptional organizational, communication and team building skills a must.

 

Physical Requirements

 

·    This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while

      standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 

      15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis,

      and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the

      shoulders on an occasional basis.  Good vision at a close distance is
