About the Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Internship:
Gain hands-on experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office while supporting real-world maintenance and engineering projects. You’ll build valuable project management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while learning to work both independently and as part of a team.
Program structure:
- Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
- Location: Saukville, WI
- Start Date: May 2027
- Duration: Year-round internship
What we're looking for:
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Preferred experience:
- Advanced Excel and analyst skills.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Tools.
What you'll focus on:
- Partner with the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on hands-on engineering projects throughout the processing plant.
- Support machine design and equipment upgrades, including part design and plant layout improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing plant operations, safety, and efficiency.
- Incorporate safety and environmental considerations into equipment and process designs.
- Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to support projects from design through implementation.
