Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: General Med/Tele skillset required: stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management required to include cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF.

Preferred Skills/Experience: First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered.

Special Requests: RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: ADTU and Satellite consists of 5 med-surg and med-tele units with the primary focus of decompressing the ED and other specialty areas within the hospital. Adults/Geriatrics. Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, fall with injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. RN ratios: 6CD - 1:5-6, acuity dependent (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8); 3K - 1:4; 5A - 1:4; 3L - 1:4; 1T - 1:4. No telemetry tech; nurses on each unit are responsible for monitoring telemetry, and the primary nurse completes an interpretation each shift. On 6CD, the charge nurse also assists with telemetry monitoring. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Floats within Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)), within scope of practice. If floating mid-shift, traveler will remain on the clock while traveling between facilities.
