This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role provides comprehensive, patient-centered clinical care for a defined patient population while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. The APP is responsible for conducting assessments, managing and coordinating patient care, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing patient education and counseling. Working within established protocols and standardized procedures, the APP supports high-quality, evidence-based care, maintains open communication with physicians and care teams, and contributes to quality improvement and departmental initiatives. The position also plays a key role in program development, operational support, and ongoing professional growth to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and an optimal care experience.

The successful candidate:

• Must be able to work Monday-Friday; 8 or 10 hour shifts.
• Serves as the primary clinical liaison between patients, physicians, and the care team to ensure seamless coordination and continuity of inpatient care.
• Collaborates with referring providers to assess patient needs, determine appropriate interventions, and provide clinical expertise throughout the care journey.
• Manages and enters medication, admission, laboratory, imaging, and treatment orders within the electronic medical record in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation, including histories and physicals (H&Ps), consults, follow-up visits, patient education, and informed consent discussions.
• Coordinates patient care activities to optimize patient flow, enhance communication among stakeholders, and support positive patient outcomes.
• Functions as a resource to clinicians, patients, and interdisciplinary team members while assisting in other clinical areas as needed.
• Maintains required licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development while participating in departmental training and organizational initiatives.
• Demonstrates leadership and accountability by supporting the hospital's mission, contributing to policy and procedure development, and partnering with physicians to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

Nurse Practitioner (NP)

• Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required.
• National Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. (If not issued by the American Heart Association, AHA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.)
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. (If not issued by the American Heart Association, AHA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.)
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred.
• Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) certification preferred.

Physician Assistant (PA)

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or equivalent program meeting NCCPA eligibility requirements.
• Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.
• Current Georgia Physician Assistant license required.
• Maintains all required Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours and professional certifications as required by applicable regulatory and certifying organizations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. (If not issued by the American Heart Association, AHA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.)
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. (If not issued by the American Heart Association, AHA certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.)
