Position Overview

PhysioSpace LLC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become a vital part of our rehabilitation team located in Wyckoff, New Jersey. In this full-time position, you will work closely under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, providing individualized patient care that aims to promote recovery, enhance mobility, and restore independence following injury or surgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of patients.
  • Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, therapeutic stretches, and functional activities while providing necessary adjustments to ensure safety and efficacy.
  • Administer various modalities crucial for rehabilitation, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and thermotherapy, to facilitate healing and pain reduction.
  • Monitor patient progress closely, maintaining accurate documentation of their status while proactively communicating any significant developments to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families about injury prevention strategies, appropriate use of assistive devices, and the importance of adherence to home exercise programs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidential and accurate clinical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, participating in patient care meetings to discuss treatment efficiency and adjustments as needed.

You will work primarily with a diverse population of patients requiring orthopedic rehabilitation. Your clients may include individuals recovering from surgical procedures, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Qualifications

  • Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of New Jersey.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, preferably from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred; however, recent graduates with clinical rotations will also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous as it aids in efficient patient data management and documentation.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years’ experience is ideal, exceptional recent graduates who have completed clinical rotations focusing on outpatient orthopedic settings are encouraged to apply. Candidates with specialized training in techniques such as McKenzie methodology, manual therapy, or sports rehabilitation will be viewed favorably and may enhance the service offerings within our practice.
