Director of Nursing Services
Newport, RI
AdviniaCare Newport, a leading provider of senior lifestyle and care services, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing Services to join our team!
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department are effective and efficient
Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care
Participate in facility surveys and assist in developing plans of action to correct identified deficiencies
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure medications are administered as ordered
Provide direct nursing care as necessary
Coordinate continuing education/in-service training for the nursing department
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a long term care facility.
Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state license
Current CPR Certification
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
