Housekeeping Supervisor
Full-time
Pay Rate: $15.00
Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Summary of Role:
The primary purpose is to supervise the housekeeping team to ensure all operations and safety procedures are properly followed. Manage resident housekeeping issues and ensure they have been properly resolved.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
• Establish schedule and plan day-to-day housekeeping functions for the team
• Follow and train established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies
• Establish the schedule and plan daily work assignments
• Train employees in laundry, housekeeping and light maintenance
• Inspect team members’ work performance
• Demonstrate leadership and train team members
• Communicate effectively with staff, residents and family members
• Develop and train staff on policies and procedures
• Order cleaning materials and manage budget
• Maintain the confidentiality of resident-care information
• Respect each resident’s personal property
• Attend department staff meetings
• Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
• Attend and participate in in-service education classes and on-the-job training programs
• Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Job Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional education preferred.
• Experience: Three years’ experience in the senior living industry preferred as well as prior management experience
• Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, and speak English; properly use supplies and maintain equipment; knowledge of proper handling and mixture of cleaning compounds.
• Other: Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS. Must have good communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral direction.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to speak,
understand, read and write English
• Walking 3 hours per shift
• Standing 4-5 hours per shift while cleaning
• Lifting 1-20# frequently, 21-35# occasionally, 36-70# rarely
• Pushing 1-20# frequently, 21-35# occasionally, 36-70# rarely
• Pulling 1-20# frequently, 21-35# occasionally, 36-70# rarely
• Bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling and climbing
• Use of large and small housekeeping equipment
*Team members who are scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits, families of said team members will also be eligible.
