SAP Vertex Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Vertex Consultant to support indirect tax applications, integrations, testing, operational support, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Vertex tax solutions, strong enterprise application support skills, and experience working with SAP-integrated tax processes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support Vertex application initiatives, enhancements, upgrades, and operational activities across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Vertex-related applications and integrations.
• Collaborate with IT, Tax, ERP, infrastructure, and application support teams to resolve technical issues and deliver project milestones.
• Support integrations between Vertex and enterprise platforms, including SAP, SAP Ariba, CFIN, Transact, Transcend, Osprey, and other connected systems.
• Participate in application testing, defect analysis, resolution, and production readiness activities.
• Support incident management, problem resolution, releases, and ongoing application maintenance.
• Troubleshoot tax determination and integration issues and coordinate resolution across technical and business teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and application-related documentation.
• Help ensure reliable tax determination processes and business continuity for critical tax applications.
• Participate in application enhancements and project delivery activities from requirements through implementation and production support.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Vertex O Series or comparable indirect tax technology platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Vertex integrations and enterprise tax application environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications, including incident management, troubleshooting, releases, and production support.
• Experience working with SAP-integrated tax processes.
• Understanding of integrations between Vertex and systems such as SAP, Ariba, CFIN, Transact, Transcend, and Osprey.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, business, tax, and ERP teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage issues through resolution.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex global enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting indirect tax applications in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based application environments.
• Experience participating in application implementation, enhancement, testing, and production deployment projects.
• Strong understanding of tax determination processes and enterprise application integrations.
