Job Summary & Responsibilities

ONTO Innovation is seeking a Product Manager 3 to support the strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management of advanced semiconductor inspection solutions for Advanced Packaging and Front-End Wafer Processing applications.

This individual contributor role will be responsible for driving product requirements, roadmap execution, customer engagement, and cross-functional alignment to deliver innovative inspection solutions that address critical semiconductor manufacturing challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, program management, sales, service, operations, marketing, and product leadership to translate customer needs into differentiated products and features.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with product management expertise and is comfortable engaging with both customers and engineering teams to solve complex semiconductor process challenges.

Product Strategy & Roadmap Management

• Support the development and execution of product roadmaps aligned with customer requirements, technology trends, and business objectives.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer assessments to identify opportunities for product differentiation and growth.
• Contribute to product positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies.
• Develop business cases and requirements for new products, features, and enhancements.
• Monitor industry trends, customer adoption, and competitive developments to inform roadmap priorities.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Product Leadership to refine long-term product strategies.

Customer & Market Engagement

• Partner with customers, sales teams, and technical account managers to gather product requirements and understand emerging market needs.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, roadmap discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Translate customer feedback into actionable product requirements and development priorities.
• Support customer evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, and issue resolution efforts.
• Build relationships with semiconductor manufacturers, foundries, memory companies, and OSAT customers.
• Serve as a product subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.

Product Development & Execution

• Collaborate with engineering and program management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Author and maintain Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), feature specifications, and roadmap documentation.
• Prioritize product requirements based on customer value, market opportunity, and business impact.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and major product releases.
• Track development progress and help resolve cross-functional issues impacting schedule or product objectives.
• Participate in stage-gate reviews and product lifecycle management activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Service, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment on product priorities.
• Communicate roadmap updates, product performance, and market feedback to stakeholders.
• Support product launch planning, training, and customer adoption activities.
• Coordinate with field organizations to identify opportunities for product improvements and competitive positioning.

Technical Product Leadership

• Develop a deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and inspection technologies.
• Work with engineering teams to define product requirements, system capabilities, and performance objectives.
• Participate in technical reviews and product validation activities.
• Analyze field performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to drive continuous product improvements.
• Support the evaluation of emerging technologies and future product concepts.

Applicants must possess the ability to travel internationally to customer sites at least 25% of the time, with additional travel as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, inspection, metrology, process control, or related industries.
• 3+ years of Product Management, Program Management, Product Marketing, or related experience.
• Experience supporting product roadmaps, product requirements, and product lifecycle activities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to engage in engineering and process-level discussions.
• Experience developing product requirements and business justifications for product enhancements.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation & Growth

• Base Salary Range:

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.

• Additional Rewards: Annual bonus opportunities and potential long-term incentives tied to both company and individual success.
