As a valued intern on our Excess Casualty team, you will be given real meaningful work as well as support and guidance from our employees and leadership as you continue to develop your skills, gain industry knowledge, and build a strong foundation for your future career.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
As a valued intern on our Excess Casualty team, you will gain experience with and exposure to tasks such as:
Correspondence with brokers, vendors, underwriting team members
Preparation of accounts for modeling
Drafting quotes and binders
Post-binding account changes/ transactions
Policy issuance including correspondence to drafting team and broker to ensure policy is issued per binder
Endorsement processing and issuance
Accurate and timely status of accounts within systems throughout the underwriting life cycle
Operation of internal controls and timely closure of Internal Audit
Other Duties as Assigned
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Proactive and driven to learn.
Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Highly organized with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Open to travel to multiple Core Specialty office locations to get a broad view of the company and team
Able to work easily with cross-functional teams
Experience:
Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in risk management/insurance, Finance or Business
Able to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
