Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing tailored treatment plans to help patients recover from injuries, surgical procedures, or chronic conditions.

• Engage in gait training and mobility interventions, ensuring patient safety while encouraging progress.

• Work collaboratively with nursing and therapy staff to enhance the overall patient experience and contribute to multidisciplinary care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with adults and elderly patients who may be recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic pain, or managing disabilities. The PTA will implement rehabilitation strategies to address the specific needs of patients across various ages and levels of mobility, focusing on personalized care to maximize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive patient and team interactions.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment, adapting to the needs of patients and the therapy team.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a hospital or rehab setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The Athletics Therapy Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
