Head of Construction Development

An expanding Construction & Field Services Division is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development - Civil Construction to lead strategic growth, strengthen client relationships, and expand market presence across public and private sector projects.

This senior leadership role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional with deep industry expertise, strong business development skills, and an established network within the Bay Area construction market.

What You’ll Do

• Lead business development and growth initiatives
• Build and maintain strong client, consultant, and subcontractor relationships
• Support proposals, estimating, and project pursuit strategies
• Provide executive oversight for construction and field services projects
• Review budgets, forecasting, and project financial performance
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements
• Mentor and develop project and field teams
• Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term construction strategy and market expansion
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade associations

What We’re Looking For

• 20+ years of construction, civil, environmental, or related industry experience
• Senior leadership experience within construction management or professional services
• Proven success in driving business growth and repeat client work
• Strong understanding of public and private sector construction delivery methods
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Environmental/Earth Sciences, or related field)
• A Professional Engineer California License is preferred
• Valid California Driver’s License required

Additional Details

• Hybrid/remote flexibility available
• Must live within driving distance of Bay Area job sites
• Pre-employment background, drug/alcohol screening, and physical requirements apply
• Salary Range: $190,000 to $220,000
