Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Hospital in Newark, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will communicate professionally, respond to concerns, and support a welcoming environment while working with a reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Pay Rate: $22.80 / Hour
Job Schedule:
DayTimeMon03:00 PM - 11:30 PMTue11:00 PM - 07:30 AMSat03:00 PM - 11:30 PMSun03:00 PM - 11:30 PMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter, reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Help to deter unauthorized access, disruptive behavior, and prohibited activity by monitoring designated areas, checking access points, and maintaining a professional presence.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and responding personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
