About the Role
As a PreKindergarten Teacher at Merryhill School, you will play a critical role in shaping students’ earliest academic experiences, building strong foundations in literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Our program blends structured learning with creativity and exploration, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
You will create a warm, engaging classroom environment where students feel supported as they develop independence, problem-solving skills, and positive peer relationships.
You will also:

Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in reading, writing, math, and foundational science and social studies concepts

Establish clear routines and expectations that promote a structured and nurturing classroom environment

Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth through positive reinforcement and modeling

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development

Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational experience
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Teaching credential preferred; candidates actively pursuing or eligible for an intern credential will be considered

Kindergarten teaching experience required; candidates without a credential must demonstrate substantial prior classroom experience

Strong classroom management and instructional skills

Ability to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom culture

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to pass state and federal background checks
