Position Overview
The Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant at Reinforce Physical Therapy plays a crucial role in providing quality rehabilitation services to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Located in San Bernardino, California, this full-time position requires an individual who is dedicated, skilled, and passionate about improving patient mobility and functionality. You will assist licensed Physical Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients in a hospital setting, ensuring that each individual receives tailored care to facilitate their recovery journey.

You will primarily engage with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and conditions that affect their musculoskeletal system. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in performing comprehensive assessments and evaluations to establish individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patient outcomes.
- Execute structured treatment plans, implementing hands-on manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities that are designed to relieve pain and enhance physical function.
- Document patient progress meticulously, tracking treatment interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
- Educate patients and families on effective home exercise programs, adaptive equipment utilization, and strategies for injury prevention, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists to deliver cohesive and interdisciplinary care.
- Participate actively in continuing education to stay informed about evolving therapies, best practices, and orthopedic advancements.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work primarily with orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, ligament repairs, and fractures, as well as individuals with sports-related injuries. These patients may have varying degrees of pain, mobility limitations, and rehabilitation goals. Your role will be pivotal in helping them achieve their rehabilitation milestones and lead a fuller, more active life.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Hold a valid California Physical Therapist Assistant license and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapy.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster therapeutic relationships with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Possess strong clinical assessment and treatment planning abilities, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an orthopedic setting is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation equipment is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
