General Summary:

Responsible for the clinical care in Pediatric Perfusion services, monitors the clinical expertise of staff pediatric perfusionists and has fiscal and administrative responsibility for department staff. This includes managing pediatric perfusionists, providing clinical coverage to all care areas twenty-fours each day and ensuring the on-going training and education of staff. Chief is responsible for managing the annual budget and maintaining the perfusion inventory. Monitors and operates an array of extracorporeal equipment during surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion accredited cardiovascular school of extracorporeal science. Master degree is preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in clinical care as a perfusionist, five years’ experience preferred.
  • Requires current status of certified clinical perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) and Maryland Licensure.
