IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Jacksonville, Florida, to lead project management efforts for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you will guide project execution for electrical systems, working closely with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions and positive outcomes for clients.

This role combines project leadership with budgeting, scheduling, client communication, quality oversight, and staff mentoring across building projects, particularly in healthcare and related MEP environments. You will collaborate across design and construction phases while helping support work that advances high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

·         Manage projects ranging in size and complexity, serving as the point of contact for teams and clients.

·         Support proposal development and contract reviews with design scopes of work and fee calculations.

·         Build project schedules with milestone and deadline targets, and coordinate project efforts through design and construction.

·         Oversee monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentages.

·         Ensure designs align with owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements.

·         Confirm design milestones, quality control processes, and construction technical support are completed in a timely manner.

·         Collaborate with design staff across all phases of design and construction.

·         Schedule and lead progress meetings, and provide meeting documentation.

·         Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested.

·         Respond to client and construction concerns, and manage change orders through approval.

·         Train, mentor, and motivate staff while building, maintaining, and developing client relationships.

What You'll Bring

Required Education

·         Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required

·         Professional Engineer (PE) License required

Experience

·         7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Required Skills/Abilities

·         Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path

·         Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)

·         Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu

·         Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others

·         Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise

·         Ability to sell work and develop client relationships

·         Strong training and mentoring skills

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

·         Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

·         Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

·         Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

·         Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

·         Broad MEP-focused portfolio with a strong emphasis on education and healthcare work. It is especially active in HVAC and electrical design, along with plumbing, fire protection, and construction administration on more coordinated project efforts.

·         The team also shows a meaningful amount of assessment, study, and survey work, plus selective technology, commissioning, energy modeling, and master planning when projects need a wider planning or renovation scope.

·         Recent work includes UH BMH/PHARMACY/RENOVATION, Healthcare, and IUPUI/MULTI-BUILDING/HVAC STUDY, Education.
