OB Hospitalist / Laborist – Per Diem

Position Summary

White Plains Hospital is seeking Board Certified OB Hospitalists (Laborists) to join a well-established, high-performing program in a busy tertiary care setting.

White Plains Hospital is a proud member of the Montefiore Health System, serving as its tertiary hub of advanced care in the Hudson Valley.

Position Highlights

• Per diem employed position. Minimum 2 shifts a month.

• 12-hour shifts with 24-hour in-house coverage

• No call requirement

• Approximately 3,000 deliveries annually

• State-of-the-art Labor & Delivery unit with advanced technology

Job Responsibilities

• Provide in-house obstetric coverage for L&D, including triage, labor management, vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

• Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies in collaboration with the L&D team.

• Serve as first assist for cesarean deliveries, as needed.

• Monitor L&D activity, including fetal tracings and patient management plans.

• Provide postpartum care and clinical supervision of APPs.

• Collaborate with obstetricians, Certified Nurse Midwives, nurses, and other members of the care team.

• Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, and obstetric emergency initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO

• Active or eligible for New York State medical licensure

• Completion of an OB/GYN residency

• Board Certified in OB/GYN

• 2+ year experience preferred

  • New graduates with OB/GYN Hospitalist Fellowship training will be considered
