JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Major Gifts has overall responsibility for initiating, coordinating, and managing major gift fundraising activities to attract and gain philanthropic support for Carroll Hospital Center, Carroll Foundation, and BridgingLife. Plan, organize, and create opportunities for individuals to make major and/or planned gifts for the benefit of Carroll Hospital Center and BridgingLife.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of at least 100 major and/or planned gifts, individual, corporate or foundation prospects.
- Works with the Vice President of Development to annually formulate a strategic plan and budget for the Foundation and provide timely and accurate updates on progress towards the goals each year.
- Develop the volunteer structure needed to raise funds and work with leadership to conduct 1-1 major and planned giving solicitations.
- Serve as lead staff to work with board and volunteer committees to conduct prospect review and grow the pipeline of major supporters.
- Maintain relations with existing donors including conducting renewal and stewardship of Founder Circle level donors of $1,000 or more and support development of new donors.
- Serve as lead for patient rounding and ensuring appropriate stewardship during hospital experience.
- Develops and sustains excellent relationships in the community in order to advance and maintain health care at the highest level at the hospital, hospice and its subsidiaries.
- Manage the donor relations process for major gifts ($10,000 +) and ensure timely and personalized donor acknowledgment, including written and verbal recognition.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in philanthropy, development, and major gift fundraising, preferably in healthcare
- Bachelor's degree preferred
