Full job description
To perform a variety of difficult mechanical and technical assignments such as constructing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of microwave products. Works from sketches and verbal instructions under limited supervision.
Machine and Equipment Used: As determined by coach.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Performs difficult mechanical and technical assignments such as constructing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and maintaining tubes, microwave products, electro-mechanical devices, component, and systems, works from schematics, engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions.
- Conducts testing of mechanical systems and improvises procedures and processes if necessary.
- Develops or modifies mechanical products to company or customer requirements.
- Operates related mechanical equipment necessary to construct, troubleshoot, process, and maintain specific products.
- Prepares and assists in determining prescribed compounds and solutions for use in processing, etching and metalizing materials.
- Evaluates various types of mechanical products and equipment and develops tuning, test and alignment procedures.
- Recommends changes or modifications to improve the operation or quality of mechanical products.
- Determines methods, operations, and sequences in settling procedures for constructing, processing, and modifying mechanical products as required.
- Designs and improvises difficult mechanical tools and fixtures as required.
- Performs the more complex analyses of rejected returned, or in-process microwave tubes in support of engineering/manufacturing as required.
- Provides technical assistance, training, and leadership as necessary.
- Ability to train others on various standard electronic and technical assignments

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- Proficient in use of VNA, PNA, Oscilloscope, DVM, spectrum analyzer, and other test equipment
- Proficient computer skills
- Team-oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to use microscope daily
- Typically requires A.A degree in related technology or equivalent technical training plus eight 6-9 years related experience or the combination of experience and training equal to ten (10) years.
- An in-depth understanding of the instruments and equipment encountered in assigned area.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
