Full job description
- Evaluate patients' medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat cancers and hematologic conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, anemia, and clotting disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, bone marrow biopsies, and imaging studies.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Provide supportive care and symptom management throughout the treatment process.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
- Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Participate in clinical trials and stay current with advancements in oncology and hematology.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Participation in academic or clinical research.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
