Field Service Technician, CNC Laser Cutting Machinery

Detroit, MI | Full-Time | 90 to 100% Travel | $30 to $40 per hour plus Overtime

Install, commission, and troubleshoot advanced laser cutting and turning machines for a world-leading CNC OEM.

Must-Haves

• Must live within 50 miles of a major airport
• Willingness to travel 90 to 100%
• Ability to troubleshoot using I/O structure and electrical and electronic test equipment
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues from measured data
• Strong skills reading technical manuals and documentation
• Clear, accurate service documentation and reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

What You'll Do

• Install and commission new CNC laser equipment at customer sites
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on site
• Demonstrate machine software capabilities to customers
• Document all service performed and future service needs
• Complete service reports, timesheets, and expense reports on time
• Support the sales team on equipment service
• Work safely within OSHA and MIOSHA guidelines
• Work overtime as customer needs require

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with CNC laser cutting, tube cutting, or turning machinery
• Background in field service for machine tool OEMs
