Job Description 

The Intramurals Supervisors Student Manager schedules, coordinates, and supervises the functions of the Officials, including coordination of hiring, training, and performance evaluation of the student staff, maintaining safety standards, and creating a positive and active experience for all Intramurals Officials and participants. They take responsibility in making league and tournament schedules and ensure that the proper venues and equipment are reserved for events.   

This position reports to the Recreation Programs Manager and works in partnership with the Activity Supervisors Student Manager. They are responsible to the Student Employment Coordinator and Payroll Coordinator for the University Centers.

Compensation 

$13.15/hour 

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division II, Range II. 

 

Required Qualifications 

Applicants must be available to work up to 20 hours per week during the semester, maintain regular office hours, and attend weekly staff meetings and events as necessary, including weekend and evening shifts. Student Managers must also attend a SuperStaff retreat once a semester, in addition to monthly mandatory SuperStaff meetings. Some work over breaks may be necessary. 

The Student Manager must be able to supervise staff and work without direct supervision. Applicants should also have knowledge of intramurals programs, policies, and procedures, and have strong understanding of sport rules and officiating. 

Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers. 

Successful applicants must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First AID certification courses within 8 weeks of beginning employment. Certification sessions will be provided by the University Centers. These certifications must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers. Where applicable, Concussion Protocol Training will also be provided by the University Centers and must be completed within the same timeframe. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Previous experience as a supervisor/manager or Senior Official is preferred. 

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP. 

 

Education 

The Student Manager must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
