Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Observation unit experience preferred.

Unit Details: Patient population includes rule-out chest pain, post-cath lab, CHF, A-fib, rule-out CVAs, TIAs, post-IR, cellulitis, and AKI; rarely surgical patients. Average patient stay is 36H with 2-3 admissions/discharges daily. Most patients are ambulatory; rare COVID patients are tested prior. Skills/procedures include ostomy care, drains, IV skills, and management of heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone drips. No ventilators or trachs. Patient ratios: Day 1:4-5; Night 1:6-8. Tech support ratios: Day 1:5; Night 1:9. Uses Alaris, Pyxis, and GE monitors. Centralized telemetry monitoring with tele tech 24/7; phlebotomy assists with peripheral blood draws.

Special Requests: RTO: Up to 7 days may be approved; additional days require nurse manager approval.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No on-call. Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. Holiday expectation: 1 holiday per season; Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day.

Floating Requirements: Floats to MSUs and ED Holding (1:4 ratio); travelers float first.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
