Full job description
Our client, an industry leader in felt manufacturing, is seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the production department supporting the manufacturing of high-quality felt products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and adaptability, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Lackawanna, NY
Pay Range: $21/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
What's the Job?
- Must have MANUAL MACHINING experience
- Read blueprints and specifications to produce precise felt products using manual machine shop equipment
- Set up and maintain machinery to ensure optimal operation and safety
- Measure and inspect products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment to keep machinery running smoothly
- Collaborate with team members to produce a variety of felt products and support other production areas as needed
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, or similar role using manual machine shop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
