Psychiatrist - Outpatient Behavioral Health

Summa Health | Green, Ohio

Position Summary

Summa Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our growing outpatient behavioral health practice in Green, Ohio , conveniently located between Akron and Canton. This physician will become part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care within one of Northeast Ohio's leading integrated healthcare systems.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed independent social workers, counselors, and addiction medicine specialists. This outpatient-focused opportunity offers a strong referral base, academic involvement, and access to a full continuum of behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment

  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices

  • Collaborate with psychologists, advanced practice providers, social workers, counselors, and addiction medicine specialists to coordinate patient care

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic EMR system

  • Participate in call coverage as assigned

  • Contribute to quality improvement and clinical excellence initiatives

  • Engage in teaching and mentorship activities for residents and medical students, if desired

  • Participate in research and academic activities as appropriate

Behavioral Health Services Available

Qualifications/Required

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

  • Eligible for an unrestricted Ohio medical license

  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
