Full job description

The Courtesy Clerk plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by supporting front-end operations and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. This position assists customers with carry-out service, supports cashiers, and ensures store standards related to cleanliness, safety, and presentation are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide carry-out assistance as needed
  • Bag groceries accurately and efficiently, following company standards
  • Retrieve shopping carts from parking areas and maintain cart corrals
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, front-end areas, and parking lot
  • Assist with basic stocking, facing, and product recovery as assigned
  • Respond promptly to customer questions and direct them to appropriate departments
  • Support cashiers and supervisors during peak periods
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by store management

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Ability to provide friendly and courteous customer service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
