Overview
Our Operations team is expanding and seeking a Project Manager - Merger Integrations who will be responsible for evaluating M&A pipeline and end-to-end project management of merger and acquisition integrations within Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS). The role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across complex, cross-functional integration efforts, ensuring alignment and delivery against business and integration objectives.
This position reports to the Integration Program Leader. Success in this role requires building strong relationships with divisional and functional leaders across Gallagher Benefit Services, including IT, HR, Finance, and other key areas.
This is a hybrid role with flexible work encouraged, based out of Gallagher’s global headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL, ideally 2-3 days per week.
How you'll make an impact
Strategic stakeholder management
- Act as the primary liaison between GBS leadership, integration workstreams, and functional teams
- Facilitate cross-functional and executive-level meetings, ensuring alignment and clear outcomes
- Synthesize complex information into concise, executive-ready status updates and recommendations
- Support leadership and workstream leads with analytics and data-driven insights to enable informed decision-making
Lead project management
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, and governance structures
- Oversee workstreams and manage interdependencies across integration milestones
- Maintain and govern RAIDD (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) logs and key project documentation
- Monitor performance against cost, quality, timeliness, and stakeholder expectations
Risk, issue, and change management
- Proactively identify risks and execution challenges across M&A integrations
- Define and drive effective mitigation strategies in collaboration with senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with other integration workstreams to deliver a seamless experience for new merger partners and GBS leadership across branch, regional, and divisional levels
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years business operations and/or project management experience required.
- Strong business acumen.
- Adept with technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience from a strategy consulting environment driving client impact with strong problem-solving, communications, and project management skills
- Proficiency with analytics, visualization, and dashboarding tools
- Self-motivated problem solver comfortable functioning in an ambiguous and complex environment
