• Ongoing assignment -- ASAP start
• 10 - 15 patients seen per 24-hour call shift
• Inpatient hospital setting
• Minimum of two APCs required per weekday
• 1 MD practice -- over 100 heart surgeries per year
• Beeper call -- 1:3 ratio, 24-hour shifts (7 am - 7 am)
• 30-minute call response time required
• Cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patient population
