Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$21.54 - $25.31 / hour

Are you a compassionate, dependable Medical Assistant who enjoys building meaningful connections with patients and working as part of a collaborative care team? Lee Health is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our LPG Babcock Ranch team in Punta Gorda!
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside four providers in a busy outpatient setting caring for both pediatric and adult patients. We are looking for someone with Medical Assistant experience who is confident working with a variety of patients and eager to contribute to a positive, patient-centered experience.
What You'll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an important role in keeping our practice running smoothly and ensuring every patient receives safe, compassionate, and exceptional care. Your day may include:
Rooming pediatric and adult patients and preparing them for their visits
Completing pre-visit planning and gathering accurate patient information
Assisting with nurse visits, including vaccinations and blood pressure checks
Responding to patient phone calls and electronic In-Basket messages
Processing patient forms and requests for information
Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
Performing point-of-care testing and processing laboratory specimens
Assisting with minor procedures and other clinical needs
Providing patient instructions and education
Handling and administering medications under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant and in accordance with regulatory standards
Maintaining clean, organized, safe, and well-prepared patient care areas
Operating medical equipment safely and appropriately
Supporting providers and the care team to promote an efficient patient flow
Providing an outstanding customer experience from check-in through completion of the visit
Performing other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor
Phlebotomy experience is not required for this position.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Medical terminology, effective communication skills, and basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant experience, particularly in a physician office or hospital outpatient setting
Experience working with both pediatric and adult patients
Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program
CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification
Previous experience with clinical workflows, patient rooming, vaccines, vital signs, patient forms, and electronic medical records
Medical Assistant experience, particularly in a physician office or hospital outpatient setting
Experience working with both pediatric and adult patients
Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program
CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification
Previous experience with clinical workflows, patient rooming, vaccines, vital signs, patient forms, and electronic medical records
Experience may be considered in lieu of completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program: One year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician's office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted.
Certifications
CMA, CCMA, or RMA preferred
BLS required within 90 days of hire through the American Heart Association/Basic Life Support
