Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexi-Seal, Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF.

Preferred Skills/Experience: First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered.

Special Requests: Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: ADTU/Resource Team covers five med-surg and med-tele units with a primary focus on decompressing the ED and other specialty areas within the hospital. Adult/geriatric population; common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. RN ratios: 6CD 1:5-6, acuity dependent; surge staffing may increase ratios up to 1:7-8. 3K 1:4. 5A 1:4. 3L 1:4. 1T 1:4. Support includes CNA assistance for vitals, blood sugars, hygiene care, rounding, linen changes, and expanded CNA+4 tasks; a unit secretary on 6CD supporting all ADTU units; a free charge nurse on 6CD supporting all ADTU units; 24/7 phlebotomy, IV/VAT, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage; and resource nurses on long-term contracts within the department. No tele tech; nurses on each unit are responsible for telemetry monitoring, and the primary nurse completes an interpretation each shift. On 6CD, the charge nurse also assists with telemetry monitoring. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Float within Region 1 as needed, within scope of practice: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH peds only).

6 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
