A health services organization in New York is seeking a Physician Assistant for an OB Surgical First Assist role in Dutchess County. This position supports labor and delivery, inpatient obstetrical care, and surgical first assist responsibilities in a collaborative women's health environment.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: 24-hour day shift
• Schedule: Varied weekdays and weekends
• Hours: 24-hour Labor & Delivery shifts
• Setting: Inpatient hospital setting

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a surgical first assist for Cesarean sections and other obstetrical and gynecologic procedures
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and management
• Assist with surgical closures, wound care, and post-procedure documentation
• Round on hospitalized OB/GYN patients and participate in patient care planning
• Evaluate patients in labor and delivery, triage, postpartum, and inpatient settings, and document care in the EMR

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active NYS Physician Assistant (PA) license
• Current NCCPA certification
• BLS certification
• DEA registration or ability to obtain

Desired Skills:

• ACLS certification
• Experience in OB/GYN, labor and delivery, women's health, or surgical first assist roles
• Experience assisting with Cesarean sections
• Experience with newborn circumcisions

Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor with or w/o US residency with current US work visa.
