About the Clinician's Workday

The clinician will provide full-time inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents during day shift hours, with a daily census ranging from 10 to 14 patients. Responsibilities include evaluating newly admitted patients, conducting daily follow-up visits, and assessing mood and affect, suicidal or homicidal risk, psychosis or hallucinations, anxiety symptoms, sleep and appetite, and medication response and side effects. The clinician will adjust medications based on each patient's progress within the context of an acute inpatient psychiatric stabilization unit. Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and prescriptive authority are required; no call obligations are associated with this position.
