Quality inspector

Our client, an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Sterling Heights, is seeking a floor inspector for a fast-paced Prototype Body in White environment. As a floor inspector, you will inspect production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and perform leak testing.

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan

Pay Range: $18/hr-$24/hr

Shift: 1st shift: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
2nd shift: 2pm-12:30am Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
What’s the Job?

• Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work
• Using gauge tools such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc..
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database

What’s Needed?

• Ability to navigate cad models
• Skills to calibrate and measure specifications, understanding of metrology joining features.
• Ability to do leak testing
• Minimum of 2 years of quality experience
• ability to read blueprints
• capability of lifting 50 lbs unassisted
