Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT in Emporia, VA at a skilled nursing facility. We seek a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve daily skills while exploring a new location. The role requires strong clinical documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient and caregiver education to support safe discharge and ongoing care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree).
• Active Occupational Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required to start the assignment.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Experience or comfort working in a skilled nursing / long-term care environment preferred.
• New graduates welcome; clinical competency in evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, and families.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience treating geriatric populations and post-acute care patients.
• Familiarity with common skilled nursing documentation systems and CMS compliance.
• Additional certifications relevant to skilled nursing care are preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 8-hour shift.
• Float Required: No.
