Compensation: $27.00 / hour
Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Position: Safety Technician
Job Description:
We are looking for a Safety Technician to join our team. This position will report to the Fleet Safety Manager.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Installation, Removal and Maintenance of Cameras and ELDs in Semi Tractors.
- Maintain installation documents and records
- Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations
- Be a key contact for our Drivers and Staff though out the Installation, Removal or Repair process. As a key point of contact, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Work with other technicians in an indoor and outdoor shop environment.
- Ability to work outdoors when needed.
- Ability to climb in/out of Class 8 semi-trucks throughout the shift.
- Communicate regularly with Drivers, Independent Contractors, Fleet Safety, Orientations and Recruiting advising when work is completed.
- This position will conduct inventory counts and management when required.
- Conduct testing on returned equipment to verify usability for reinstallation.
- Conduct DOT inspections of vehicles.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Maintain work area, tools, and equipment.
- Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments.
- Perform yard checks for vehicles unable to pass a visual inspection.
- Perform Data Entry in Maintenance Software to track repairs.
- Keep shop and company tools clean and in good working order.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude

- Prior experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair
- Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (extended hours as required)
- Ability to travel to other Terminals for Equipment installs, Removals or Repair.
- Must have basic set of tools
