Modeling and Simulation Support Lead
Location: Fort Bragg, NC
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $126,000 - $129,000 annually
Position Overview
MKS2 is seeking a skilled Modeling and Simulation Support Lead to lead the development and integration of virtual and constructive simulation environments supporting Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC) exercises. This position is responsible for supervising modeling and simulation personnel and overseeing the design, development, and delivery of terrain databases, simulation environments, scenario content, multimedia products, and video support required for Mission Command Exercises and mission readiness training.
The Modeling and Simulation Support Lead serves as the primary technical authority for simulation development and media production activities, ensuring realistic and immersive training experiences that support operational objectives and exercise requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead modeling and simulation personnel supporting SOMTC training and exercise events.
- Develop, configure, and maintain virtual and constructive simulation environments used during Mission Command Exercises.
- Create and manage terrain databases utilizing Terra Vista DART or equivalent terrain-authoring software.
- Design realistic operational environments, maps, and geospatial products supporting military training objectives.
- Develop exercise scenarios, injects, and simulation content that replicate operational and tactical conditions.
- Produce and edit multimedia products, including video content, graphics, animations, and visual effects, utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Coordinate simulation integration efforts across exercise development, operations, and technical support teams.
- Support exercise planning conferences, rehearsals, and execution activities.
- Troubleshoot simulation and media systems to ensure reliable performance during training events.
- Maintain modeling, simulation, and media-production documentation, processes, and standards.
- Provide technical recommendations to government leadership regarding simulation capabilities and training enhancements.
- Manage project schedules, workloads, and development priorities to ensure timely delivery of exercise-support products.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Army Modeling and Simulation systems, concepts, and training applications.
- Demonstrated expertise using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects for multimedia development and video production.
- Extensive experience utilizing Terra Vista DART or an equivalent terrain-authoring suite.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting virtual and constructive simulation systems.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in video editing, multimedia production, and scenario content development.
- Experience supporting military training exercises, simulations, and operational mission rehearsal activities.
Clearance
- Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience leading a modeling, simulation, media-production, or terrain-development team.
- Experience supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) or Mission Command Training Program events.
- Familiarity with Joint and Army simulation architectures and training support systems.
- Experience integrating geospatial, intelligence, and operational planning data into simulation environments.
- Knowledge of military exercise design and training-development methodologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of Army training systems, simulation technologies, and mission command environments.
- Advanced proficiency with terrain generation, scenario development, and virtual training environments.
- Expertise in multimedia content creation, video editing, motion graphics, and animation.
- Ability to lead technical teams supporting complex exercise-support requirements.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills supporting simulation and media-production systems.
Work Environment
- Position located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
- Supports military training events, exercise development efforts, and mission readiness activities.
- May require occasional travel and support during extended exercise operations.
- Fast-paced environment requiring collaboration with exercise planners, simulation technicians, and government stakeholders.
