We are seeking a dynamic, hospitality-driven Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations of our concept located within a hospitality destination in Montgomery, AL. This role is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing kitchen execution, food quality, staff leadership, inventory control, and supporting restaurant service. Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations of a restaurant featuring all-day brunch and dinner service
- Manage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and cost control systems to reduce waste and maintain profitability
- Monitor and manage food cost, labor cost, and operational expenses in alignment with financial goals
- Lead recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and development of kitchen staff (line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers)
- Partner with culinary leadership on menu development, seasonal updates, and recipe consistency
- Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and operational to avoid service disruption
Kitchen Manager Qualifications:
- 3–7+ years of progressive kitchen leadership experience
- Proven financial acumen, including food cost, labor management, and budgeting
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing and coaching kitchen teams
- Hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to “own the kitchen” during service
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- BOH foundation strongly preferred (line-level experience earlier in career)
