The Student Lab Assistant will provide essential support to the computer lab by ensuring the lab's smooth operation and readiness for student, faculty, and staff use. This role requires a proactive and responsible individual who can perform tasks independently while effectively communicating with lab users and the administration team. This position is exclusively available to students with Federal Work-Study (FWS) funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all lab equipment is functional, including computers, printers, and other devices.
- Monitor and restock supplies such as paper, toner, and other materials as needed.
- Assist lab users with technical issues or general inquiries.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or other concerns to the Associate Director of Administration at Lang and IT support.
- Complete tasks independently, ensuring the lab is well-maintained and operational at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to relay issues and requests to management and IT support.
- Basic understanding of technical equipment and willingness to learn troubleshooting processes.
- Punctual and reliable, with a proactive approach to resolving issues in the lab.
- Federal Work Study Award is required.
- Must Be a TNS student.
WORK MODE
- On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
HOURLY RANGE
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
