Full job description

Overview:

Performs Neurodiagnostic procedures, under the supervision of the senior staff and physicians. As advanced competencies are completed, the technician may perform more advanced procedures (Neonatal EEG, EP, LTM). This position trains to become a Technologist in all aspects of Neurodiagnostic procedures. Completion of ABRET registry in one or more of the modalities will be a requirement of the position based on time and experience upon hire. Technicians hired into this position must complete the registry process in one of these modalities with 24 months of hire. If the candidate has completed a CAAHEP approved program then they will have 12 months to complete the registry process in one of the modalities.

Responsibilities:

Assesses and collects patient history and other data to determine patient stability, safety, and reasons for testing. Pruning and all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner. Questions on testing results are brought to the director and medical director for quality concerns. A. Previous Neurodiagnostic studies always reviewed prior to initiating a new study B. Patient report forms are completed and information is used to establish needs of patient C. A through patient history is obtained and information is used to plan procedure. Constraints to the procedure are identified and the study is modified appropriately (i.e. no HV for recent CVA, etc.

Qualifications:

Qualifications Qualification Description Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High School graduate. 2 to 4 years' college preferred but not required. Graduation from a CAAHEP approved END training program highly desirable. If candidate does not have college then OJT position at a large teaching hospital with demonstrated competencies may be considered. Clinical health care experience of at least one year required. Graduation from a CAAHEP approved END training will be considered equivalent to one year's work experience. Ideal candidate must be a highly self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal direction. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation Employees in this position: Licensure/Certification/ Registration Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
