Full job description
Great themed environments don't just look the part — they make people feel something the moment they step inside. As an Interior Designer II in our Orlando office, you'll help create those moments, translating story and character into materials, finishes, and spatial details that guests can touch, see, and remember. This is a place to build that craft on real, immersive projects, surrounded by people who care as much about the work as you do.
Cuningham's purpose is to design a better world with deep respect for the real one — a purpose that shapes our vision of a world made better by selfless design, and shows up in what we value: staying curious, delighting in the craft, designing responsibly, growing together, and caring for each other. In this role, you'll engage in developing design through all project phases while supporting the technical solutions required by both project design and local code — taking ownership of small to medium portions of project scope and moving them forward independently, with minimal supervision from a project leader.
Direct experience in themed entertainment, attraction design, or immersive environments is required.
What you will do:
What we look for:
- 4–8 years of professional experience in interior design
- Professional degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Experience across multiple phases of design, from concept through construction documentation
- Themed entertainment, attractions, or experiential design experience strongly preferred. Experience across other markets is welcomed.
- Working knowledge of Revit/BIM 360, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam
- Exposure to Rhino, Enscape, or Lumion is a plus
- Familiarity with FF&E selection, specification, and manufacturer coordination
- Understanding of, or willingness to develop expertise in, interior materials and applicable building codes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and consultants
Why Cuningham?
At Cuningham, we believe the best work happens when people are supported, challenged, and connected. Whether collaborating across teams, engaging with our communities, or shaping meaningful design solutions, we bring pragmatic creativity and disciplined execution to every project — and we support each other through it all.
We nurture an equitable work environment where curiosity is celebrated, craft is valued, and growth is prioritized. Alongside a team that brings low-ego expertise and active leadership day-to-day, you’ll work on complex, high-stakes projects that demand bold thinking and disciplined delivery.
